Match Report
In what was a must-win match to make the finals, the Gypsies were falling early with a soft call from the captain to desert on the morning of. Could that be the fall of the Tan dynasty? Now with only 10 men and under the leadership of Kebab, the Gypsies took the field with an opening spell from Varinder, rattling the top order with 3 wickets. What was to come was a sorrowful affair of typical D-grade sky balls falling into space and stumps that started half a foot under the pitch, leading to balls bouncing over that would normally hit halfway up the stumps. But, who was to blame for this but us, who failed to hit the stumps or cover enough ground. The redemption was one of the better fielding efforts of the season, 3 run outs and the heralding of a new keeper in Brendan. This left the Gypsies with a chance, as Simon and Brendan strode out to the crease only for the former to be returning 7 balls later with a tie sealing 3rd duck. With his partner soon following him, and V not lasting much longer, Travis and Justin built and built quickly with a 52-run partnership, and that spelled the beginning of the end, with Travis the next removed for a team-high 68. The collapse that ensued will bring shame on many a household, 5/15 led to a quick end to what was a promising chase and any hopes of finals, leaving with it. SHAME GYPSIES SHAME.
