Match Report
Gypsies Captain was missing from the scene of a crucial game before the semis. But that didn't demoralize the side in any shape or form. It was a nice sunny day and ideally Gypsies would have liked to win the toss and bat, but toss was lost and the opposition decided to bat first. The oppeners were looking dangerous, but V Singh soon got rid of one of them when he tried to slog a widish full toss, but instead knocked his own wicket with an inside edge. Nick Fention-Smith didn't tell anyone that he was on some sort of fitness program and had his personal trainner on the field(R Singh). R Singh either lost the plot or was hungover as he failed time again to bowl anywhere close to the 3 stumps, making NFS dive to keep every second ball from going 4 byes. In total R Singh contributed to oppostions 3rd highest score of 12 (just in wides). Though opposition got a bit carried away with wides(for which T Masters gave them an ear full), Gypsies conceded 21 wides. The balling was tight from rest of the bowlers, but the fielding is worth a mention. There were quite a few drops: Drop summary: Dolly by Cil, Dolly by Shayne, a screamer by Shayne, another tough one by Shayne, avoidance Shayne, avoidance Daryl. Shayne was almost looking like he was asleep on the field, V had to shake him up just to make sure he was not sleeping on the field. V went a bit overboard with his celebrations after taking a simple catch which was made to look tough ;) when he pointed towards Shayne and commented " now that's how you are suppose to take a catch". A fineable offence, but no one was in the pub to reprimand V for the over zealous celebrations as once again there was mass pub avoidance, will get to it later. The oppostion batsmen failed to hold on to their crease for long and Anti Socials were all out for 129. Star of Gypsies bowling side was Nathan Cohen, who impressed everyone with his bowling, taking 4 wickets.

Shayne and Harry opened the batting for Gypsies to chase the moderate score of 130. Shayne wanted to repeat the success of his last innings and started of with the unorthodox style( as I would like to call it for Shayne ), but Shayne prefers the word unusual. He was almost caught on second slip on the 2nd ball of the inning and soon was back in his shell, and it took Shayne almost 2 overs to put more runs on the scorebook. On the other end Harry was playing with his usual style scoring quick runs. But in a hurry to finish the match Harry was caught behind when he tried to pull a bouncer and was out for 15. Shayne soon followed Harry and was caught behind for 10. In an attempt to put some order back to the crumbling Gypsies side Paul and Daryl were sent on the crease, but Paul was robbed of another fantastic innings was Cil, when he was given LBW, which the batsman and the leg umpire thought was too high to be given out. At this stage Gypsies were 3/40 and were looking in a bit of a strife. V Singh almost got timed out as he was not expecting to bat anytime soon and was not ready. Daryl and V Singh took charge and played a very sensible innings, scoring at a steady pace to get Gypsies home in the 27th over.

Gypsies finished strongly at the number 2 spot and have earned the spot in semis. Call it witch craft or whaever but I am already seeing the premiere ship win in my dreams. Lets make this dream a reality. How bout em!!!!!!

Now to the issue of Mass Pub avoidance and date vote tampering: There was an appalling 5 Gypsies missing from the pub session after the win. Though B2 will be happy with the financial outcome, I believe board members have some serious thinking to do here, as this is becoming a regular occurence. (Second time this season alone).
