Match Report
Match Report Day 1:

In a day destined to be immortalised in Gypsy folk-lore, Kitty Vanstead absolutely decimated the record highest score by a short Gypsy captain played on the 1 November at a North Shore location by smashing a career-defining 63 from the hapless Hunter Hill Pirates who were left speechless, bereft of parrots, eye patches, cutlasses and pieces of eight.

After a solid start from openers Wall and Harrison, a cameo performance by Jr, the beginnings of what would have been a swashbucking innings by B1 (unfortunately consigned to walking the plank, after being shown the black spot) and some pad play by Ben "so you think you can dance?" Westall, Kitty strode to the wicket and proceeded to smash the Pirates to the seven seas. Ably supported by Varinder, who is on report for unGypsylike behaviour for smashing a 4 off his first ball on his debut innings, Will showed how much the Oz selectors had erred in not sending him to India (to run a call centre). After Will's departure (to find Merv Hughes' mobile number), Varinder, ably supported by Orman, Chopper, and Nathan, put the Pirates to the sword, sending them to Davy Jones' locker, reaching 96* in the last over of the day.

Capt Kitty (aagghhhh) now has a week to decide whether to bat on next week, or declare at the Gypsy's 8/~270. Decisions, decisions.
