The Saggys sent the Gypsies to field on a scorcher of a day. With the mercury nudging 40c, the boundaries tiny and the outfield lightning fast each batsman was eyeing off their own double centuries.
Alas it was not to be... after losing the openers early, Dipn and newcomer Regan combined in a flurry of boundarys to take the score around 100. The drinks break claimed it's first casualty of the day with Dipn out swinging at his first ball after the resumption of play. Regan finished with a well composed 52 in his first saggy knock and Boball and Cash chipped in with tidy contributions to take the score to a defendable 186.
We then took to the field without our catching mits as Bob and Dipn saw a the openers get dropped several times in their opening spells. Regan made his debut even more memorable adding his first saggy wicket to his game tally, but by then the damage was done and the first week ended with the Gyppos 1/109.
Week two was a matter of going through the motions as the Gyppos opener cruised them to an easy victory within an hour helping himself to 129* on the way.
